Cooling bag for medication

Amgen is producer of biomedicines and some of the products are sensitive for temperature. This decreases the users in their posibility to travel. Amgen wanted to approach their users by giving them a cooling bag which makes it possible to travel for ten hours, under different climatic conditions. Plato product consultants has developed a nylon bag with isolating interior of EPP. Thermal conduction was the basis of this concept. Using the cooling bag, temperature sensitive medicines can be transported for ten hours between 2 and 8°C. The cooling bag has been extensively tested and is the first bag which is sufficient for these strict demands. In 2003, 2004 and 2005 series of 10.000 pieces were produced and released. Production, assembling and delivering were all accomplished in the responsability of Plato product consultants.
The cooling bag has been selected by the public as the winner of the Dutch Packaging Chain Award 2005, accomplished by the Netherlands Packaging Centre.
