Anco Orchideeën b.v. is a horticulture of Vanda orchids, established in Wateringen. The Vanda orchids are sold in plants and cut-flowers. Beside this type of sales Anco wanted to sell the Vanda as well as single flower. Plato product consultants has succesfully designed the total packaging and the graphics for selling the single Vanda’s. The packaging consists of a card, a clamshell and a box. The black card is made of folding boxboard, the clamshell is thermoformed with APET and the box is bilateral black impressed B-flute. The box protects the product during transport and displays the flower during selling. A box contains twelve clamshells which can be used as a gift. The clamshell does not only protect the Vanda but also creates a longer freshness from about three weeks. The clamshell has an eurolock, but is also able to stand-alone. Inside the clamshell is the card with the flower. At the front of the card a tube is clasped, which contains water or gel. The flower will be inserted in the tube. At the back of the card there is space to write a personal message and to insert a business card. After receiving or buying, the card will be removed from the clamshell, and can be folded to stand up straight which gives the flower a great appearrance. The logo and the pictographs are also designed by Plato product consultants.
