'Packaging Design - a methodical development and simulation of the design process' by Roland ten Klooster.

For his Ph.D. thesis Roland ten Klooster has written 'Packaging Design: A methodical development and simulation of the design process'. This study focuses on the design of packaging.

Packaging is often regarded as being rather superfluous or even unnecessary. Packaging, however, is very useful and, generally, is indispensable. Assessment as to the use of packaging is complicated by the large number of aspects that play a role in the realization and actual functioning of packaging. The underestimated complexity of packaging, the sort time-to-market, the limited tests that are executed on packaging concepts, the restriction of costs of packaging materials, are reason to look for a more detailed model of the design process.
